Japan is an important market for Indian exporters, but the recent recessionary trends of this quality-conscious market has forced Indian exporters to change their strategy. Now they are open to catering whatever minimum orders the Japanese buyers are asking for, focusing more on product development, offering more styles and also reducing the prices to stay relevant to the market. Recently, Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) organized the 27th India Home Furnishing (IHF) fair in Osaka that witnessed 30 exhibitors from India, most of whom despite market difficulties, are growing in Japan market.
