Resurgent textiles industry fresh policy thrust

Dedicated textiles policies have slowly found place in state governance since 2012 with many of the states that have major presence of the textiles industry opting to show support to the industry in the state. But with the Textiles Ministry announcing its intention to present the new textiles policy by July 2015, soon after Textiles Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar took over as MoS (I/C), Ministry of Textiles in mid-2014, addressing many of the issues that have been flashpoints of contention with the industry including labour laws and the buzz around, having targeted textiles policies to strengthen the textiles industry as it is a huge employment generator, has only got stronger… Though the promised National Textiles Policy is yet to see…
